About the show

From dozens of chart-topping hits to classic, rarely played album tracks, The Dung Beatles blend authentic arrangements and top-drawer musicianship with high-energy performances. It's a cocktail that has firmly established the band's reputation over the last decade. To quote David Stopps (founder and promoter of the legendary Friars Club in Aylesbury) "one of the best Beatles bands in the world".

The band has played hundreds of gigs, from theatres to festivals to clubs, including Aylesbury's Waterside and Chesham's Elgiva theatres, and The Cavern in Liverpool. It has also been a regular guest and live performer on BBC radio.

We prefer to be known as a 'Beatles rock band', rather than 'tribute', as there are no costumes, wigs, acting or backing tracks. As our name suggests we don't take ourselves too seriously, preferring to put all our efforts into delivering The Beatles' music live with energy and authenticity.

The band has established quite a following over the years with many regulars coming time and again to their shows, among them hardcore fans who expect top-notch Beatles music. We love playing the big hits of course, but we also relish doing the more rarely played album tracks.

'The Beatles Years & Beyond': Our repertoire of over 120 songs covers every year the Beatles were together, from the high energy early years through psychedelia to their later melodic rock style. Added to that, we've been unable to resist straying into some of the awesome numbers they put out in the early '70s and feature hit songs from each of the Beatles' early solo years.
