Presenting World Class Jazz to Aylesbury Vale Buckinghamshire
Jazz Upfront @ St Mary’s has become a must-visit spot for jazz lovers in the area and beyond.. and for good reason. It’s played host to some of the most iconic names in the modern jazz scene and continues to do so, while also putting a focus on rising stars of the genre.
It now boasts its own One-day festival, which takes place in St Marys Church Aylesbury Old Town HP20 2JJ on Saturday 31st May 2025 for a 10-year Celebration of Jazz Upfront @ St Mary’s..

James Pearson is a pianist, composer and creative tour de force and the Artistic Director at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club. Returning to Jazz Upfront with his Sextet of Jazz Legends, featuring the amazing vocals of Sara Oschlag.

The Ed Bently Quartet
ED makes playing jazz on the Hammond Organ sound easy. But dancing lightly on foot pedals while chording effectively with one hand and spinning out subtle ideas with the other is only for experts, and a few if any, of his London rivals do it better.

The Andrew Wood Trio
The Andrew Wood Trio is an exciting and innovative ensemble, blending tradition with a modern touch. Fronted by the talented drummer Andrew "Woody" Wood, the trio is known for its rich musicality and seamlessly playful interplay between the band on stage. Expect to hear a varied program of jazz repertoire drawing on inspirations of Ahmad Jamal Trio, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans with a healthy portion of humour and joy.
