Bridge To Philly

Bridge to Philly is a tale of four cities—a sophisticated musical narrative charting the extraordinary evolution, heartbeat, and heartbreak of soul music.

Far from a predictable jukebox show, this production maps a historic creative move-ment. It traces the journey from the raw, gospel-infused grit of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, through the definitive Detroit hits of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, into the revolutionary mid-70s Philly studio eras of master producers like Thom Bell and Gamble & Huff.

Audiences will experience an intimate, atmospheric exploration of the genre's defin-itive masterpieces—blending universally loved chart-toppers like “Betcha By Golly, Wow", "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love", and “What’s Going On" with sleek, late-night treasures like "Love Won't Let Me Wait”.

Stripped of commercial noise, UK number-one recording artist Steve Tilt (formerly Steve Brookstein) returns to the theatre stage. Joined by the world-class musi-cianship of jazz/soul guitarist Luca Boscagin, the duo delivers a masterclass in pure musical storytelling.

“I have been waiting to hear a voice like Steve’s for some time to be reassured there are singers around who possess a real voice as well as a commanding pres-ence. In other words someone who is the real deal.” — Sir Michael Parkinson
