About the show
A founder and ever-present member of The Blues Band until it finished in 2022 with Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness and Dave Kelly, Gary Fletcher has also appeared with and/or recorded with Peter Green, Maggie Bell, Van Morrison, John Mayall, Christine Collister etc.
He plays and sings a compelling mix of originals and classic covers, incorporating elements of blues, Americana and folk, using guitar, slide, banjo, mandolin and ukulele.
He’s released several albums featuring both electric, acoustic lineups as well as the acclaimed ‘In Solitary’ solo offering, which along with the electric ‘Giant From the Blue’ album, secured 4 star reviews from Maverick and R2 magazines. Bob Harris has featured Gary live in the studio on his BBC R2 show several times and has had him play sessions for his YouTube channel ‘Under the Apple Tree’.
The latest album is entitled ‘River Keeps Flowing’ and features his road band which includes ex Yardbirds and Nine Below Zero harmonica wizard Alan Glen and Lindisfarne, Joe Brown and Feast of Fiddles violinist Tom Leary.

His full six-piece lineup showcases the exceptional talents of Tom Leary (Feast of Fiddles, Lindisfarne) on violin and mandolin, Alan Glen (Yardbirds, Nine Below Zero) on harmonica, Andy Billups (The Hamsters) on bass, Nick Ritchie (Mud) on lead guitar and Sam Kelly (Tom Robinson, Dave Kelly Band) on drums.
